Last Nights Vice – “Dance While You Still Have Time” Video

First of all, I just want to say that when hitting me up with press requests, I especially favor those who show off some personality and a sense of humor. Take a lesson from Joe Fitzsimmons, the guitarist of Last Nights Vice, who started off an email to me last week with the following: 

“Here is our new video and single for “Dance While You Still Have Time” in hopes for consideration for a review or feature on your site. My Mustache would love to hear back from you.(http://www.flickr.com/photos/lastnightsvice/5834659772 - Top Left, it’s disgusting)”

And yes, Joe. Usually not being a fan of mustaches, all I have to say is: please shave, for the love of god.

Anyway, last year, as some of you may recall, I was randomly hit up about this band. I quite enjoyed what I had heard and wondered where these guys were back in my St. Louis days. They recently released a new video for a new tune titled “Dance While You Still Have Time.”

The video is simple compared to a lot of the fancy schmancy Gaga-esque production shenanigans that the world seems to always expect from everyone these days. However, sometimes simplicity is key. The energy is still there and that’s all these guys need.

Rock ‘N’ Roll Solders’ video for “Anthem.”

I would be one of the army extras running around. I also got to climb a broken down helicopter (which was originally my idea that I pitched to the video crew; they loved it; they agreed to let me do it).

This was probably one of the more memorable shoots I’ve done, but more of because of the two wonderful and talented friends I made that day/night (Dustin Blackburn and Adam Lawson) who later continued to cast, assist, direct, and produce other great music videos, films, and comics. <3
